Hole 4

Hole 4

This par five is a significant challenge from tee to green. From the tee, the fairway splits in two, either side of a meandering stream. The golfer has the choice of carrying the stream and avoiding a well-placed bunker on the left or taking the shorter option to the right hand fairway, a decision that might be influenced by the wind direction. Over the stream, the fairway cambers towards a lake – the largest water feature on the course – and narrows dramatically as it gets closer to the green. The sloping, wide but narrow green sits nearly at right angles to the line of play, making hitting the green with a long approach a tricky proposition. Positioning your second shot to the left hand side of the fairway, just short of the second fairway bunker, provides the safest approach to the green. Another bunker waits at the middle back of the green to gobble up errant approaches.
