During the week a field of 32 competed in the knockout finals of the Wellington Golf match play at Royal Wellington. After some excellent victories, the final featured our own Ben Slaven playing Miramar’s Brad Rowland over 18 holes. This was their fourth consecutive round in the two days.
Brad had a great start and established a 3 hole lead, however Ben came back to win on the 16th hole. Congratulations to Ben Slaven – our Wellington Match play champion.
Next week Ben and Jono Cane represent the Wellington team in the Toro NZ Men’s Interprovincial that features other Royal Wellington members, (whose primary membership is held at other clubs) including Daniel Hillier, Kerry Mountcastle, Jono Cane, and Dean Gray.
